Use your conversations in Claude or ChatGPT (MCP server)

Connect Fluent to Claude from Settings: you approve it by signing in to Fluent, it works on Claude’s free plan, and you can disconnect any time.

Fluent exposes your conversation memory through a user-facing MCP server — the open standard for connecting AI clients to external tools. Point Claude, ChatGPT on the web, Mistral Vibe, Claude Code or Cursor at it, and you can ask about your conversations inside the tools you already work in.

Connect a client

Using an AI agent such as Claude Code or Cursor? Paste "Set me up for Fluent. Fetch https://becomefluent.io/prompts/agent-setup.md and follow it." into it, and it sets Fluent up for you. The instructions it follows are at prompts/agent-setup.md. To do it by hand:

  1. In your AI client, add Fluent's MCP server — the endpoint and setup steps are on the MCP page.

  2. You'll get a Fluent sign-in — OAuth 2.1, no API keys. Approve access and the connection is live.

    Claude can add it on every plan, including Free (which allows one custom connector). ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers on the web only, and not on every plan, so check yours. Cursor adds it from its MCP settings, then asks you to Connect.

  3. Ask the client something it could only know from your conversations: "What did I agree to send the client last week?" "Summarize my Tuesday."

Why it's useful

Your conversation history isn't locked in an app — it's a data source you can bring into Claude for drafting, into ChatGPT for analysis, into Mistral Vibe for a second opinion. Prep for a meeting by asking the AI that already knows your context, instead of pasting background into a chat window.

Scope and control

Access runs through your authenticated Fluent account — the client sees what you can see. To disconnect, tap Disconnect next to it in Fluent's Settings › Connect your AI, on the web or on your iPhone: its next request is refused. If it isn't listed there (an older connection), remove the Fluent connector in your AI client. A sign-in also expires on its own if the client stops using it. There's no key to rotate. What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol — the open standard that lets AI clients call external tools and read external data. Fluent's MCP server exposes your conversation memory, meeting notes, people profiles, and tasks to the AI clients you connect.

Do I need an API key?

No. Connection is OAuth 2.1 — you sign in with your Fluent account and approve access. Nothing to copy, rotate, or leak.

What can an AI client actually do with it?

Query your conversation history, pull meeting notes and action items, look up person profiles with their cited evidence — your Fluent data, available inside the AI tools you already use.

Does it work in Cursor?

Yes. On Connect your AI, click Add to Cursor and Install, then click Connect next to fluent in Cursor's MCP settings and sign in with your Fluent account. Without the button, paste the config shown there into Cursor's mcp.json.
