Turn a meeting transcript into action items
Paste a transcript. Get each action item with its owner and any due date that was said. Free, no sign-up.
Fluent doesn't store or log your transcript or the action items. The transcript goes to our AI provider to find the action items, and the results come back only to your browser. The provider doesn't train on it, and may keep requests for a limited time to monitor for abuse.
How it works
Paste the transcript and the tool reads it for commitments: things someone agreed to do after the meeting. Ideas, opinions and things already done are left out.
Each action item gets an owner only when the transcript says who will do it. If nobody took it on, or it was asked of the whole room, it says Unassigned rather than guessing. A due date appears only when one was said, in the words that were used, such as "Friday" or "by end of month". Dates are never invented or converted.
Where it can, each item shows the line it came from, so you can check it against the meeting.
What makes a good action item
A clear action item has three parts: a verb ("Send the Q3 deck to the board"), one owner, and a date. Items without an owner tend to stall, so an Unassigned item is a good thing to settle before everyone leaves.
Tips for messy transcripts
Speaker names matter most. "Sam: I'll send it Friday" lets the tool name Sam; an unlabeled line can only be Unassigned.
Paste the whole meeting rather than a summary: commitments often come in the last few minutes. Timestamps and filler words are fine to leave in.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. There is no account and no sign-up. To keep it free, each person can use it up to 10 times an hour and 30 times a day.
- Is my transcript stored?
- Fluent doesn't store or log your transcript or the action items. The transcript goes to our AI provider to find the action items, and the results come back only to your browser. The provider doesn't train on it, and may keep requests for a limited time to monitor for abuse.
- Which transcript formats work?
- Plain text from a Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Otter export, or notes you typed. Speaker names help the tool name owners.
- How long can the transcript be?
- Up to 60,000 characters, about an hour of meeting, and at least 200.
- Can it read audio?
- No, it reads text only. Fluent's iPhone app works from what you record with it: it transcribes the conversation and finds the commitments for you.

Want this without the copy and paste?
Fluent's iPhone app does this for the conversations you record with it. Your commitments go to your task list in Apple Reminders or Google Tasks, and what someone promised you comes back as a follow-up to check on.
