Follow-ups: track the commitments made out loud
Fluent is an iPhone app that tracks the commitments spoken in your conversations, yours and theirs: yours land on your task list, and what others promised you comes back when it's time to check.

Every week you make verbal commitments, and so do the people you talk to. "I'll get back to you on that." "Let me check and follow up." "I'll send you the doc." They're easy to forget within the hour. The other person may remember them for a year.
Fluent catches both sides. Your commitments land on your task list, and what someone promised you becomes a follow-up with a date to check back, each linked to the conversation it came from.

When you hedge on a promise in a meeting, Fluent asks you to commit to a day or say you won’t. Pick a day and it’s on your task list.
The kinds of commitments Follow-Ups catches
"I'll send you the deck by EOD." — caught and put on your task list.
"Let me think about the offer and get back to you by Thursday." — on your list, linked to the conversation.
"I owe you a thoughtful response to that question." — on your list, so you don't skip it.
Their commitments: "I'll have an answer by Friday." — a follow-up reminds you to check back, so you can raise it without sounding petty.
