Getting started
Name who's speaking in a recording
Transcripts are easier to use when every line has a name on it. Fluent separates the voices in a recording, and it asks you to name the ones it can't put a name to.
The Who's this? card
Open a memory. If a speaker in it has no name yet and spoke for at least 10 seconds, a Who's this? card appears above the transcript.
- When Fluent has a best guess, the card says Sounds like Priya. Tap Yes, Priya to confirm, or Someone else to choose a different person.
- Without a guess, tap Name them and pick the person.
- Tap Not now to leave it for later.
Name a speaker from the transcript
- Tap any line in the transcript. The Assign Speaker sheet opens.
- Pick a person, or tap Create New Person.
- Choose Everyone this speaker said to name the speaker, or Only this line to name just that line.
Naming the speaker names every line they said in that recording. The confirmation shows how many lines were named, and you can undo it from there.

Why didn't Fluent ask about a speaker?
It asks about one unnamed speaker per recording, and only someone with at least 10 seconds of speech, so brief voices and background noise don't get a card. You can still name anyone from the transcript.
Does Fluent name people without asking?
A guess on the Who's this? card is only a suggestion. Nothing is named until you tap to confirm it or pick someone yourself.
I named the wrong person. Can I fix it?
Yes. The confirmation after naming lets you undo it, and you can tap any line in the transcript to assign that speaker to someone else.
