Where Bee wins
Bee is the cheapest way to find out whether always-on capture fits your life. Forty-nine dollars, a small wearable, a working app — for pure curiosity, that's a defensible purchase, and the hardware itself is fine.
It's also genuinely simple. One device, one app, nothing to configure. If your bar is "record my day and give me summaries," Bee clears it at a price nobody else touches.
Where Fluent wins
Depth. Bee produces a transcript and a summary of your day. Fluent produces the summary, the commitments each person made, a profile of everyone you talk to that deepens over months, a coach that heard the actual conversation, and a calendar agent that puts the follow-ups on your calendar.
Independence. Three of the five pendants in this category were acquired in the last twelve months — Limitless to Meta, Bee to Amazon. When the acquirer is a platform company, your conversation data becomes a corporate asset. Fluent is the software layer with no hardware company behind it and nothing to flip.
And exit. Fluent exposes your conversations through an MCP server, so your memory works inside Claude or ChatGPT — not locked inside a $49 product's app.

Is Bee still being developed?
Amazon acquired Bee in July 2025. The product still exists, but its roadmap, pricing, and data handling are now set by Amazon's priorities — not an independent company's. That's the same acquisition pattern Limitless followed into Meta.
Does Fluent work with the Bee pendant?
No — Fluent integrates with Limitless and Omi pendants over Bluetooth, or captures directly from your iPhone's mic. Bee's audio flows only into Bee's own app and Amazon's cloud.
Isn't Bee cheaper than Fluent?
The hardware is cheap — about $49 — but Bee's ongoing cost is a subscription plus whatever Amazon decides the product becomes. Fluent has a free tier and needs no new hardware at all: it runs on a Limitless or Omi pendant you already own, or just your phone.
