A weekly review template for Friday at 4pm.
The week's real output is scattered across conversations. This template pulls it back into one page — before Monday eats it.
Thirty minutes, end of week. A reconciliation, not a diary: what I said I'd do vs what happened, what actually moved, and what Monday should attack. Works for solo professionals and team leads. Commitments first — that's the section most reviews skip.
Weekly Review — Template
Commitments reconciliation
- Everything I promised this week — delivered, in flight, or dropped?
- Everything others promised me — received or still owed?
- Anything dropped twice → decide to kill it or escalate it
What moved
- The three things that actually advanced the work — not activity, progress
- Decisions made — yours and the ones that landed on you
What's stuck
- Blockers still open — and whose move unblocks each
- Conversations I'm avoiding — name them while it's cheap
People
- Who needs a response, a check-in, or a thank-you before Monday
- Relationships that went quiet this week — flag before they go cold
Next week
- The one thing that makes next week a win — write it first
- Top three priorities; the first 90 minutes of Monday already decided
- Meetings to cancel or shorten while there's still time
Review the record, not your memory
If your week ran through Fluent, the reconciliation section is already written — every commitment made and detected, every follow-up still open, per person. The review becomes a decision pass over the evidence instead of an hour of "what did I even do on Tuesday?"

How long should a weekly review take?
Twenty to thirty minutes if you're working from a record of the week; an hour-plus if you're reconstructing from memory. If it's taking longer, the input is the problem, not the format.
Friday or Monday?
Friday. The review closes the week — Monday-morning reviews get eaten by Monday. Write next week's priorities Friday so Monday starts executing instead of remembering.
