Limitless pendant alternatives (2026)
Limitless stopped selling its pendant to new customers on December 5, 2025, after Meta acquired the company. If you want a new one, Omi is the open-source pick and Plaud NotePin the more finished meeting recorder. If you already own a Limitless, you don't have to replace it.
Fluent is an iPhone app for AI notes on in-person meetings. It works with a Limitless or Omi pendant, or records straight from your phone.
Short answer: what to use instead of a Limitless pendant
To buy a new pendant: Omi is the open-source one, in stock at $129 on sale ($179 list). Plaud NotePin ($159) is the more finished bundle, built for meetings you choose to record. Bee ($49.99) is sold out and US only, and Friend ($249) is a companion to talk with, not a note taker. Prices checked October 2026.
To keep the Limitless you own: Fluent pairs with the pendant directly, with no Limitless cloud required, and can import your Limitless history. It never joins a call. See Fluent for Limitless owners.

Limitless pendant vs Fluent: what each one does
Limitless
- The pendant hardware (clip, lanyard).
- Always-on audio capture.
- Native iOS app — functional, basic transcription.
- Backed by Meta as of late 2025. Roadmap unclear.
Fluent
- Connects directly to the Limitless pendant — no Limitless API or cloud required. An optional API pull imports cloud history.
- Real meeting notes, not raw transcripts.
- People profiles with cited evidence.
- Calendar agent. Conversation coach. Daily insights. MCP server. Goal tracking.
- Independent of Meta's roadmap.
You don't pick one. You use them together. Limitless captures the audio. Fluent makes it useful.
Pick by your situation
You still have the Limitless
Keep wearing it. Fluent pairs with the pendant directly, with no Limitless cloud required, and can import your Limitless history, so your conversations stop depending on Meta's plans for the product.
You want a new pendant
Omi is the open-source one, in stock at $129 on sale. Plaud NotePin ($159) is the more finished bundle, built for meetings you choose to record. Omi pairs with Fluent; Plaud doesn't.
You mostly need meeting notes
You may not need a pendant at all. Fluent records a meeting straight from your iPhone.
Why people are searching for an alternative
Limitless was acquired by Meta in December 2025 and stopped selling the pendant to new customers on December 5, 2025. The same day, its service ended in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Brazil, China, Israel, South Korea and Turkey. Elsewhere, pendants already in people's hands kept working, and Limitless says it will support them throughout 2026. The software roadmap got quieter, and existing owners started searching for what comes next. The full timeline, and what it means for a pendant you already own, is in What happened to the Limitless pendant.
Fluent is the answer that doesn't require returning your pendant. Same hardware, different software layer. If Meta ships a great native app eventually, you can use both. If they don't, Fluent's view of your conversations keeps running.
We're not trying to replace Limitless. We're trying to make the bet you already placed pay off.
Questions
Is Limitless still being sold?
No. Limitless stopped selling the pendant to new customers on December 5, 2025, after Meta acquired the company. Outside the regions where its service ended, Limitless says it will support existing pendants throughout 2026, and a pendant you own still pairs with Fluent.
What is the best Limitless alternative if I'm buying a new pendant?
Omi, the open-source pendant, at $129 on sale ($179 list) and in stock. If you want the more finished hardware-and-app bundle for recorded meetings, Plaud NotePin ($159). Prices checked October 2026.
Can I keep using my Limitless pendant without the Limitless app?
Yes. Fluent connects to the pendant directly, with no Limitless API or cloud required, and turns what it captures into meeting notes, people profiles and coaching. An optional import brings over your Limitless history.
What should I do with my Limitless data?
Export it while Limitless's tools still work. Fluent can import your Limitless history, so the archive doesn't depend on Limitless's servers staying up.
